My Short Stories

This is an 18 page short story about a healer-turned-assassin who is tasked with killing a tyrannical king and the obstacles she runs into along the way. It is part of a larger work and inspired a novel that I am currently working on.

The novel will expand on the ideas of this story and the consequences of Elora's assassination mission, leading her to question her alliances and everything she thought she knew, especially when a new king takes power and things become personal.

This is a roughly 18 page short story written for a class on writing fiction. It's about a witch named Hazel who hates magic but adores gardening, the troublesome little creatures who destroy her plants, and her neighbor-turned-only-friend Sean, who ends up being her unexpected solution.

Another story inspired by a Radical Face song, I based this one off of the song "Welcome Home, Son." It tells the story of a girl returning to her dilapidated childhood home and dealing with the loss of the family she'd already lost contact with years prior. It's an exploration of imagery and detail. 

Amara, a witch with no morals, is taught a lesson in the form of a curse that turns her into a cat for eternity. In order to become human again, she must learn how to act like one when a teenage girl offers her help.

Inspired by the song "Glory" by Radical Face, this is a story about the son of a war hero with PTSD and how his family copes after his loss. It's a story of pain and ultimately acceptance. I wanted to explore the consequences for those left behind when we lose people close to us. It's meant to read as a brief part of a memoir about the main character's life and what they learned.
